Employees of Palli Sanchay Bank have called for the removal of the bank’s Managing Director (MD) Sheikh Md Jaminur Rahman and several other officials, accusing them of involvement in irregularities and corruption.
At a press conference held at Dhaka Reporters Unity on Sunday, bank officials voiced their concerns and demanded action against the MD and his associates.
Sheikh Md Jaminur Rahman, who was first appointed as MD in 2022 and reappointed in April 2024, is alleged to have engaged in corrupt practices during his tenure.
According to the employees, Rahman, along with System Analyst Allama Mohammad Yahya Tanhar and Senior Syste m Analyst Md Shahed Alamgir, used their positions and political connections with the ousted Awami League government to establish dominance within the bank.
The officials accused Rahman and his associates of embezzling bank funds through inflated purchases and accepting bribes for recruitment, transfers, and promotions.
