Selim Rahman has been elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC (AIBL). He was elected during the 403rd meeting of the Board of Directors held on Sunday, 18 August 2024.
Selim Rahman was born into a prominent Muslim family in Chattogram. His father, Alhaj Khalilur Rahman, is the founder of one of the country’s largest industrial conglomerates, the KDS Group. Currently, Selim Rahman serves as the Managing Director of KDS Group. The group’s companies include KDS Garments Industries Ltd., KDS Accessories Ltd., KDS Apparels Ltd., KDS Logistics Ltd., KDS IDR Ltd., KYCR Coil Industries Ltd., Steel Accessories Ltd., and KDS Poly Industries Ltd, reads a press release.
Selim Rahman has served as a director on the Board of Directors of Al-Arafah Islami Bank and another private bank for 24 years.
