At least two men died due to lightning while fishing in Kishoreganj ‘s Karimganj upazila on early Friday. The incident took place at North Kalabagh village under Jaika Union of Karimganj upazila. At this time, three others were injured.
Among the victims identified Ali Akbar (30) son of Abul kashem and Kanchan Mia (32) son of Md.Ali in kalabagh village of karimganj upazila.
Jaika Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Humayun Kabir said that some people including Ali Akbar, Kanchan Mia and others went fishing in a boat on Friday midnight in Bholaduba.
Ali Akbar and Kanchan Mia died on the spot when the lightning struck around 3 pm. Apart from this, three others were injured. They were rescued and treated at Karimganj Upazila Health Complex.
They are currently healthy.
The Oficer-in-charge (OC) of Karimganj police station, Md. Mizanur Rahman confirmed the truth of the incident.
