All 639 police stations, which were closed after the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government, have resumed their operations as of Thursday.
According to a press release issued by the police headquarters, all 110 police stations in the metropolitan cities and 529 police stations in districts are now fully functional. Additionally, 24 police stations under the Government Railway Police (GRP) have also resumed their activities.
Previously, services at most police stations were suspended following the fall of the Sheikh Hasina-led government on August 5, due to widespread attacks on police stations amid a mass upsurge.
Home Affairs Adviser M Sakhawat Hossain later issued a strict order for police personnel to return to their workplaces immediately, ensuring the resumption of police operations nationwide.
Police Headquarters in a message said all the police stations have returned to regular activities.
All 110 police stations in the metropolitan cities are functional while 529 police stations in districts are also functional, it said.
