From Thursday (August 15) morning, more than five hundred students protested in the college campus for various demands, including the resignation of Ali Hossain, who was in charge illegally. Earlier, on Wednesday, students held a protest rally and mass signature program with 21-point demands.
Md. Ali Hossain, who was fired from the post of principal during the Awami League regime, came to the campus at 11 o’clock after the removal of principal Ali Hossain from the post in the face of two-day student agitation. Touhid Hossain. At that time he was unanimously assigned the responsibility of principal.
Mansur Ali, the senior teacher of the political science department of the institution, said that during the rule of Awami League, the institution was taken over by a self-interested group through political influence. They removed the principal of Savar Model College Tauhid Hossain, who had been in charge for 26 years, from his post. Recently, after the fall of that government in the people’s coup, the institution was freed from the occupation of Awami League in the face of the continuous movement of students for the last two days. Touhid Hossain has been given the responsibility of principal again.
After taking charge, Tauhid Hossain said, I wish for the forgiveness of souls of those who gave their lives to eliminate all kinds of discrimination from Bangladesh. I am grateful to the students who have agitated to make this college de-discriminatory today. Savar Model College was established in 1996 with the dream of producing talented and ideal people.
After years of occupation, today this institution is free from discrimination. From now on, the healthy environment of education will return here again.
After a long time, the dear principal returned to the institution and congratulated the teachers, employees and former students of the college with flowers.
Among the demands of the protesting students were- Principal Ali Hossain, Md. Hossain of philosophy department. Dismissal of Ramzan Ali from Islamic Education Department accused of Rana and homosexuality. Public apology of lab teacher Abu Saeed, sports teacher Feroz Alam, Dilara Khanam of Bengal department, Mustafizur Rahman of Islamic history department, Aminul Islam of accounting science department as their collaborators. Banning politics in college, reinstatement of statistics department teacher Hasan Mahmud who was dismissed in false case, action taken to withdraw false case of students and staff.

Besides, naming the library in memory of Shaheed Tanzir Khan Munna, a student of the 24th batch who died in the anti-discrimination student movement. Provision of hygienic canteen. Declaring former BCL office bearers uninvited. Student-teacher welfare fund, various clubs, renovation of college labs and libraries. Alumni Association, various competitions, generators, clean water, separate teachers for boys and girls, sound system in classrooms, arrangement of projectors were demanded to keep the college completely free of student and teacher politics.
Expressing solidarity with the demands of the students, Mansoor Ali, senior teacher of political science department, Billal Hossain, senior teacher of mathematics department, Nazmun Nahar, senior teacher of biology department, Rashedul Islam, senior teacher of management department and Masum Saeed, teacher of Bengali department spoke.
After the mass signature program on Wednesday, the students protested again on Thursday to realize these demands. Students can be seen protesting with different playing cards in their hands for their demands.
