Besides displaying the country’s socio-cultural and folk tradition, the Bangladeshi team also represented their traditional foods at a stall named ‘Bangladesh’. Wearing their traditional dress, they represented a good number of Bangla dishes like Chotpoti, Fuchka, Payes, Pitha Puli, Pati Sapta Pitha, Khaja and so on at their stall.
The 21-day event was organised through Global Cultural Exchange Programme under the management of German Goethe-Institut.

Shoptorshi Bashar, the granddaughter of heroic freedom fighter Shaheed Captain R A M Khairul Bashar, also a Grade-X student of South Point English Medium School in Dhaka’s Banani area, was one of the organisers of the Bangladeshi stall. She recited a Bangla poem “Jiboner Hisab” by Sukumar Ray. “Highlighting the beauty of folk music, we sang songs and prepared some of our delicious dishes at the youth camp.”

“Secondary-level students from other countries also provided their traditional foods and participated in cultural activities. We all enjoyed the programme very much and understood the cultures of other countries, including that of host Germany,” she said.
