Bangladesh High Performance (HP) squad defeated Melbourne Renegades by 77 runs in a T20 cricket match at Darwin in Australia on Sunday. It is noteworthy that Melbourne Renegades played in the Big Bash League, the most prestigious cricket tournament of Australia.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh HP squad piled up a satisfactory total of 170 runs for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and then shot out Melbourne Renegades for just 93 runs off 15.2 overs.
Jishan Alam and Tanzid Hasan put on together 19 runs in the opening stand.
Bangladesh HP squad lost their early three wickets for 45 runs.
Opener Jishan Alam hit a run-a-ball 10 runs, while Tanzid Hasan, the other opener scored 17 runs using just nine balls.
Parvez Hossain Emon and skipper Akbar Ali scored together 47 runs for the fourth wicket stand. Akbar Ali made 21 from 18 balls before he was out.
Then, Parvez Hossain Emon and Shamim Hossain Patwary contributed 51 runs for the fifth wicket partnership before Parvez Hossain Emon was dismissed. Emon hit a superb 69 runs capitalizing 48 balls. He struck seven fours and two sixes.
Shamim Hossain remained unbeaten with 25 runs. His run-a-ball knock was included with one six and one four.
Abu Hider Rony scored 13 runs from eight balls.
Matt Henig grabbed three wickets, while Tyle Pearson bagged two wickets and Harry Dixon took one wicket.
Later, Joshua Brown and Harry Dixon fought back against the superb bowling attack of Bangladesh HP squad. They scored together 34 runs in the opening stand. Brown made 19 runs, while Dixon scored 16 runs.
Rakibul Hasan and Ripon Mondol captured three wickets each, while Makidul Islam and Abu Hider Rony bagged two wickets each.
