Sylhet Bureau :
Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that the martyred and injured students in the anti-dictatorship movement are national heroes. The nation will forever remember the sacrifice of the students in the movement to overthrow the fascist government. The fascist government was dying to stay in power. They wanted to stay in power by any means. For this reason, they carried out terrible massacres across the country from 3 to 5 August. Many such incidents took place in different places of Sylhet on August 4.
He said, through a bloody struggle till August 5, a huge victory was achieved by the students under the leadership of the anti-discrimination student movement. Dictatorship has fallen. People got rid of Awami misrule. After the fall of Hasina’s government, a vested interest has been conspiring to destabilize the country. Everyone should come forward to protect the nation from this. We do not want conflict, differences. We want to build the country together.
He said the above while visiting the injured in various hospitals of Sylhet in the attack of police and Chhatra League terrorists during the ongoing student movement on Saturday afternoon.
