City Desk :

After 11 years, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has lifted the suspension of Diganta Television, a private satellite channel.

The channel’s broadcasting was initially stopped in 2013 by the Awami League government, which cited allegations of spreading hatred, rumours, and irresponsible reporting.

On Thursday, the ministry reversed its decision following an appeal from Diganta Television’s management.
A copy of the order was forwarded to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC).
In related developments, on Tuesday, former officials of Diganta Television convened at the channel’s office to discuss plans for its relaunch.

The fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government has triggered significant shifts in Bangladesh, leading to demands for administrative changes and the reinstatement of figures who were previously sidelined.
