Advocate Shah Md. Khasruzzaman, President of the National Lawyers Association (NLA), has expressed strong support for the Army Chief’s proposal to establish an interim government.
In a statement released on Monday, Khasruzzaman congratulated the Army Chief for this initiative, highlighting the need for an interim administration comprised of competent, honest, and impartial individuals to address the current transitional period in Bangladesh.
The National Lawyers Association, representing a membership of 60,000 lawyers, praised the proposal as a crucial step towards stabilising the nation. Khasruzzaman extended his condolences to the families of those who lost their lives during the recent student-led movement, expressing deep sorrow for their sacrifice. In his statement, Khasruzzaman outlined the primary responsibilities of the proposed interim government. He emphasised the need for measures to increase the money supply in the currency market and prevent the escalation of prices for essential goods.
These actions, he argued, are critical for restoring peace and addressing the ongoing economic crisis.
The association’s president urged the new interim government to act swiftly to restore stability, peace, and to set a new course for the country’s development.
