Cheering masses occupy country streets National Desk

As soon as the news of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation came out, thousands of people in Rangpur city and different areas of the district started cheering in the rain. They ignored the rain and continued to express their joy in different alleys. From children to men and women of different ages came to the streets and hugged each other and rejoiced. After three o’clock in the afternoon, the agitators began to gather at Rangpur Central Shaheed Minar with part-by-part processions from different neighborhoods. Many people ate sweets and distributed them.
Lopa Jannat Tusi, a student of Rangpur Begum Rokeya University, who came to the joyous march, said that we lost our university brother Abu Saeed in the anti-quota movement. The police killed him brutally while demanding his rights. Abu Saeed has given us courage in this movement. On the day Abu Saeed was shot dead, we swore that we would not return home without victory. Today is our happy day. But brother Abu Saeed could not win this joy. We did not want the fall of the government. The government brought about its own downfall.
ZakiaHasanLoveni, a housewife of Shalbon area in Nagni, said that today is a happy day. This joy cannot be expressed in words. The students took to Raj Road to demand their rights. They were shot dead for that. I can’t imagine that Sheikh Hasina will leave like this.
Rafid Munajjir Ramim, a class 10 student of Collectorate School and College, said today is Eid. I am deeply saddened by the martyrdom of Abu Saeed in the anti-quota movement. He wished, may Abu Saeed’s soul rest in peace with Sheikh Hasina’s resignation.
Rickshaw driver Aminul Islam said that Sheikh Hasina could not control the prices of goods. Everything has increased in price. Hardworking people like us have to live in hardship. Those who will take charge of the country in the future should keep things under the control of paper.
