Netrakona vets applaud Jamaat-Shibir ban

A big procession of freedom fighters and local people of all walks of life was brought out in Netrakona district town on Saturday hailing the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for banning the anti-liberation and communal forces Jamat-e-Islami and its student wing Chaatra Shibir and the party’s other associate bodies.
Bangladesh Muktizoddha Sangsad Netrakona district and sader upazila units, Muktizoddha Santan command Netrakona district unit and Ekattorer Gatak Dalal Nirmul Committee (GDNC) Netrakona district unit jointly organized the procession.
It started from the office premises of Muktizoddha Sangsad Netrakona district unit and it after parading the main roads of the town ended on Netrakona central Shaheed Minar premises.
Later, the procession was followed by a peace rally there. Chaired by former deputy commander of Muktizoddha Sangsad Netrakona district unit valiant freedom fighter Abdul Matin, the rally was addressed, among others, by chairman of Netrakona zila parishad Asit Kumar Sarker Sazal, mayor of Netrakona municipality Nazrul Islam Khan, president of sector commanders forum Netrakona district unit Mohammad Shamsuzzuha, president of Muktizoddha Santan Command Netrakona district unit professor Omar faruk, president of GDNC Netrakona district unit Kashob Ranjan sarker and general secretary of the GDNC Netrakona district unit Shahinuddin Ahmed.
The speakers congratulated the government for banning the politics of the defeated forces of Jamaat-e-Islami and all of its front organizations including Chaatra Shibir in 1971.
