Teachers-students, guardians and other professionals have come down on the road in Rangpur ignoring the rain for the 9-point demand.
Rangpur Metropolitan Police has dismissed two policemen in connection with the death of Abu Saeed.
Students of schools, colleges, madrasas, Begum Rokeya University (Bru) and technical institutes started gathering in the Rangpur Press Club premises to protest the attack and killing of the peaceful movement from the morning of Saturday (August 3).
Parents, professionals, lawyers and teachers started participating in this movement in solidarity.
Later, around 12 noon, a protest procession came out and circled the main roads.
Meanwhile, parents, lawyers, professionals and students addressed a short rally at the district school junction. Law and order forces were seen to be on high alert at the same place.
The students raised 9-point demands, including the fair trial of 6 murders including Bru student Abu Saeed, who was killed by the police, and the release of all the students arrested in the movement.
ASI Amir Hossain and Constable Sujan have been dismissed by Rangpur Metropolitan Police due to their unprofessional behavior in connection with the death of Bru student Abu Saeed in the quota agitation.
Rangpur Metropolitan Police Deputy Police Commissioner (Crime) Abu Maruf Hossain confirmed the matter on Saturday (August 3) afternoon.
He said that in the preliminary investigation of the death of Bru student Abu Saeed, the unprofessional behavior of the two was proved, due to which they were dismissed.
The investigation committee is analyzing Abu Saeed’s condition, videos, pictures and surrounding events of that day, and if anyone is found to be involved, action will be taken against them.
On July 16, there was a clash between the police and the Chhatra League at the intersection of the park adjacent to Bru with students agitating for quota reform.
He led the procession from the front. And at one point he let me get the chest. Abu Saeed was shot and later died.
After this incident, the heat of the movement spread throughout Rangpur district. Deceased Abu Saeed was one of the coordinators of quota reform movement and was a 12th batch student of English Department.
