The Ministry of Education has appointed a lawyer to provide legal assistance to the three HSC examinees who are in police custody.
The ministry announced the information in a press release on Thursday.
According to the notification, the Ministry of Education has appointed a lawyer to provide legal assistance to the three HSC examinees in police custody.
Earlier on Wednesday night, HSC candidates from at least 19 colleges including Notre Dame College, Begum Badrunnessa Mohila College, Dhaka Residential Model College, and Dhaka College announced not to take part in the examination on social media.
They demand that “they will not sit for the examination until the arrested HSC examinees and general students are released”.
However, it could not be ascertained whether all students agreed with these statements or declarations. In view of this, the Ministry of Education announced to provide legal assistance to the arrested HSC examinees. Meanwhile, all the ongoing HSC and equivalent examinations have been postponed.
