Police attempt to arrest late Barrister Mainul Hosein

Police visited the Baridhara residence of the late senior lawyer and former advisor to the caretaker government, Barrister Mainul Hosein, to arrest him. On Monday afternoon, several police officers arrived at his home at 22 Embassy Road with an arrest warrant. However, no family members were present at the time. The officers inquired about Barrister Mainul Hosein’s whereabouts from the household staff, who informed them of his death. The police then requested to see the death certificate. Upon verification, they left the premises.

Javed Hosein, the son of Barrister Mainul Hosein, told the media that the family is currently abroad. He confirmed that the police had come to their home with a warrant issued against his late father. The household staff showed the officers the death certificate, after which they departed.

It is worth noting that Barrister Mainul Hosein, a former advisor to the caretaker government and former chairman of the editorial board of The New Nation, passed away on December 9 last year.
