The Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DB) Cyber and Special Crime (North) Department has revealed startling information regarding instructions from London to Juba Dal leader Nure Alam Siddiqui Peyton.
According to DB Chief, Tk 10,000 was promised for killing police officers and Tk 5,000 for killing Chhatra League members.
The revelation came after the arrest of Abdul Aziz alias Sultan, Nure Alam Siddiqui’s brother-in-law. Sultan was reportedly tasked with executing these orders on the ground.
During the investigation, the DB uncovered that Abdul Aziz was instructing Jamaat-Shibir and BNP cadres to carry out acts of violence, including killings, vandalism, arson, and looting, in exchange for money.
This led to attacks on various important buildings across the country, including in Uttara and Abdullahpur, where significant damage and chaos ensued. Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner (Detective) Mohammad Harun Or Rashid shared these details at a press conference held at the DB office on Minto Road on Thursday.
He stated that under Abdul Aziz Sultan’s direction, Jamaat-Shibir and BNP activists were involved in destructive activities aimed at undermining public order.
Rashid emphasized that the attacks, including the fatal beating of a policeman on October 28 of last year, as well as the vandalism of the police hospital and the Chief Justice’s residence, were part of a larger conspiracy to demoralize the police and destabilize the country.
