Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister, Obaidul Quader, on Thursday warned that the situation could deteriorate further due to covert attempts by the BNP and Jamaat.

“The agitators, the BNP, and Jamaat are conspiring to create more anarchy. So, the situation may worsen,” Obaidul Quader stated.

He assured that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina would take responsibility for the families of those killed in the recent nationwide unrest.

“A committee has been formed to investigate the killings and terrorist activities, and every culprit will be brought to justice,” Quader said while addressing a coordination meeting with the ward leaders of AL Dhaka North unit at the Awami League district office in Tejgaon, Dhaka.

At the beginning of his address, Quader prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved families. He also wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

The minister accused the BNP-Jamaat alliance of leveraging the quota reform movement to perpetrate arson terrorism. He claimed their objective was to turn the country into ruins and seize power through violence.
