4 electrocuted in capital rainwater

At least four people died in separate incidents due to electrocution in rain water accumulated in the capital.

These accidents occurred in Pallabi and Old Dhaka of the capital on Friday (July 12).

The people who died in this incident have been identified as Md. Alauddin (27), Md. Russell (18), Md. Ayub Ali (45) and Abdul Noor of Bhashantek.
Alauddin is the son of Bachchu Mia of Meghera village in Tarakanda police station of Mymensingh district.

Russell is the son of Ratan Das of Kelishahar Darogar Hat village of Patia police station in Chattogram district. Both lived in Pallavi area. Md. Ayub Ali is the son of Belayt Sheikh of Tarabunia village of Nazirpur police station in Pirojpur district.

Among them, on Friday (July 12) at noon, Md Alauddin (27) and Md. Russell (18). died of electrocution in the furniture factory next to Aziz Market in Pallabi. Both of them worked as masons in furniture factories.

They were rescued unconscious and brought to the emergency department of Kurmitola General Hospital where two died while undergoing treatment.

n this regard, Sub-Inspector of Pallabi Police Station SI Abdul Aziz said, after receiving information, we recovered their bodies from the trolley of the emergency department of Kurmitola Hospital.

After the legal process, the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Quoting local residents, the police officer also said that due to rain, water froze in the furniture factory. Two of them were inadvertently electrocuted while removing the goods.

Later we learned that both of them died and took them to Kurmitola Hospital.

However, the exact cause of death will be known after the post-mortem report.

Ayub Ali (45) died of electrocution in the rain water accumulated in Agarbati lane of old Dhaka. The accident took place on Friday night.

Later, he was rescued unconscious and brought to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the duty doctor declared him dead at midnight.

Bhashantek Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Pranay Krishna Mandal said that Abdul Noor was electrocuted while walking in the water that had accumulated under the house on Friday morning.

“People took him to Kurmitola General Hospital, where doctors declared him dead,” he said.
