Seven including driver of ex-BPSC Chairman confess in question leak case

Seven people including Abed Ali, driver of BPSC Chairman made confessions in the question leak case.
On Tuesday, the seven accused made confession in the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka under the section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

After recording the confessional statements of the accused they were sent to the jail in the evening. The remanded accused people are- Md Khalilur Rahman, Sajedul Islam, DU former student Abu Suleman Md Sohel, Md Sakhawat Hossain, Saim Hossain, chauffeur of former PSC Chairman Abed Ali and Liton Sarker.

Earlier, remand plea has been sought for 17 people including three officers of Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC). They were produced before the court of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate at about 1:30pm on Tuesday.

An allegation has found that questions of 30 recruitment tests were leaked in last 12 years.

The Criminal Investigation Department of Bangladesh Police arrested them on Monday (July 8).

The other accused include- PSC Deputy Directors Abu Zafar and Md Jahangir Alam, Assistant Director Alamgir Kabir, former soldier Noman Siddiqui, auditor Priyanath Roy, businessman Md Zahidul Islam, Mamunur Rashid, Narayanganj Regional Passport Office Security Officer Shahadat Hossain, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital Medical Technician Niamun Hasan and Abed Ali’s son Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam.

Meanwhile, citizens are sharing information about Abed Ali’s considerable wealth on social media following revelations of his involvement in the question leak.
