The police have arrested four people in the case filed alleging gangraping a young woman she was travelling with her boyfriend atfish enclosure in Muladi upazila of Barishal district.
The arrested are Fazle Rabbi (20), lver of the girl and son of Alamgir Akan of Charpadma village of Safipur Union, Baten Gomsta (22), son of deceased Azahar Gomsta of the same area, Ruhul Amin (20), son of Aziz Bepari and Nabil Khan (20), son of Kalam Khan of the upazila.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of Muladi police stationMuhammad Zakaria acknowledging the fact on Saturday July 6, 2024, said they were arrested from Char Padma area of the upazila and sent to prison through the court.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrested persons admitted to raping the young woman in turn. Barishal The young woman has been sent to the One Stop Crisis Center of Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
OC of Muladi police station about facts of the case said, the young woman, a resident of Uttar Patarchar village of the upazila, got married seven years ago and divorced after three years. Later, Fazle Rabbi fell in love with the young woman due to his previous acquaintance.
On Thursday afternoon, lover Fazle Rabbi took the girl to the fish enclosure of Masum Billah in Charpadma area. There Fazle Rabbi first raped her with the lure of marriage.
Then the 4 employees in the enclosure saw them in an offensive condition and detained them. Later, they tied the lover Fazle Rabbi to one end of the fish enclosure.. Then tied the young woman’s face and raped her in turn and took pictures and videos on mobile phones.
Later in the evening, the girl returning home informed her parents and her father lodged a written complain against five at the Safipur police outpost of the upazila.
