The question is that six months of this year have passed, will we be able to reach the target of tea. The tea season usually starts from April. We are a bit behind in that regard. But hopefully I will be able to achieve the target.
He said these things to a question from the journalists at the ‘Open Day Tea Tasting Session- 2024’ held by the Bangladesh Tea Research Institute (BTRI) located in Srimangal, Moulvibazar on Saturday.

The demand of our country is 95 million kg of tea; there we are producing 103 million kg of tea. For this I, as the Chairman of the Tea Board, thank all the planters and all those associated with the tea sector. Our aim is to export tea abroad to meet the needs of the country. For this reason, the theme of this year’s Tea Day was, “Tea Day Resolution – Export Oriented Tea Industry” You may know that Independence North tea used to export more abroad. Now with time, the demand for tea has increased both at home and abroad.
