Situation deteriorates in Sherpur too

The flood situation has worsened in Sherpur district due to continuous rains of the past few days and the water coming down from the upstream of India.

Hundreds of people are suffering as new areas are flooding. The water of Chellakhali, Bhogai river of Nalitabariupazila, Maharashi and Someshwari of Jhenaigati upazila and Mrigi and Old Brahmaputra rivers of Sherpur Sadar upazila have increased. According to District Water Development Board, the water of Chellakhali River in Sherpur is 346 cm above the danger level and the Bhogai River is flowing 47 cm above the danger level today.
