Puppetry to promote forestation in narail

As part of its nationwide tree plantation program, Mission Green Bangladesh (MGB) organised a tree plantation program, puppet shows, discussion meetings, and human chains in Narail on Friday (June 28, 2024).

The organization’s events were held in various locations in Narail on Friday. The event was co-sponsored by Healthy Living, Asha (Asha-hoffnungfür Bangladesh e.V.), and Syed Shakil Welfare Trust. The local partner of the event was Alok Nishan Foundation.

It is learned that the environmental organization Mission Green Bangladesh organized these day-long events on Friday from 8 am onwards. Puppet shows (puppet shows) were organized in various places in Narail to highlight the importance of planting and caring for trees, as well as the benefits of trees. In addition, the organization planted several hundred saplings in several places and organized human chains (Stand for Green) to build a green Bangladesh. Later, the organization organized a discussion meeting on the importance of trees and distributed saplings among thousands of people at Sheikh Russel Mini Stadium in Narail.

The discussion meeting and sapling distribution was held under the chairmanship of SM Hayatujjaman, Headmaster of Lohagar Government Pilot High School, and was moderated by journalist Kazi Imran. The chief guest was Md. Zahurul Islam, UNO of LohagarUpazila, Narail district. Special guests were Syed Al Mahmud, a prominent social worker, Farhana Yasmin Iti, Acting Chairman of Lohagar Upazila Parishad, senior journalist Rupam Mukherjee, and Ahsan Rony, Convener of Mission Green Bangladesh. Mission Green Bangladesh’s project director, agriculturist Abul Bashar Meraz, was the special speaker at the discussion meeting.
