Police of Fakirhat Model PS arrested one Md. Imran Shaikh (35) who is an accused of as many as 30 criminal cases lodged with Fakirhat and other Police Stations from the village Choto Khajura within Lokpur Union under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district along with arms and ammunitions at the night of June 24.
It was disclosed by Raselur Rahman, Additional Police Super of Bagerhat in a press briefing held on June 24.
It was stated in the press briefing that at Monday night (June 24) acting on a secret information a police squad of Fakirhat Model PS conducted a raid the house of Md. Imran Shaikh, son of late Hazrat Ali Shaikh of village Choto Khajura and after searching the house police recovered one (9 inches long) homemade pistol, 5 live cartridges of shot gun, 2 live ammunitions o Chinese rifle, a cutter (pinches) used for breaking locks, 2 pairs of pliers, a Burmese claps-knife, one claps-knife with wooden handle, one pipe wrench and 2 Das (one kind of curved knife). By this time Imran Shaikh tried to flee away. Bu the police chased and arrested him. Among others ASP Md. Rabiul Islam Shamim and Md. Ashraful Islam, Officer-in-charge of Fakirhat Model PS were present in the press briefing.
The Polio Officer told, after lodging a case with the PS against arrested Md. Imran Shaikh was sent to jail hajat through the court at Bagerhat. The O/C added, Imran is an accused of as many as 30 criminal cases (including 4 dacoities.
