Stern legal action will be taken if instructions are issued to ban the foreign travel of individuals against whom corruption charges have surfaced, stated Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun.
The IGP made this remark in response to a journalist’s question at the end of a rally celebrating the 110th anniversary of the Dhaka Range police at Segunbagicha in the capital on Monday (June 24).
Addressing the query, IGP Al-Mamun clarified that the police cannot arbitrarily stop anyone; they must adhere to legal protocols. He emphasized that the police force maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against corruption.
Additional IGP (Administration) Kamrul Ahsan, DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman, Dhaka Range DIG Syed Nurul Islam, and other senior police officers were also present at the event.
