Fake doctor detained from DMCH

Police arrested a fake female doctor at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and filed a case against her at Shahbagh Police Station on Friday. The fake doctor, Ripa Akter, 20, was apprehended in the Gynecology department of Ward No. 212 of DMCH.

Shahbagh Police Station’s Inspector (Investigation) Md Shah Alam confirmed the case filing. He stated that the fake doctor was handed over to Shahbagh Police Station after being detained at DMCH on Thursday night. She was wearing a doctor’s apron at the time of her detention. Subsequently, the Gynecology department’s ward master, Abul Hossain, filed a fraud case against her.

Earlier on Thursday evening, she was seen roaming suspiciously in the No. 212 labor ward of the old hospital building, wearing an apron. After confirming that she was not a legitimate doctor, Ansar members detained her.

The hospital’s security in-charge, Ansar Platoon Commander Mizanur Rahman, told journalists that the detained woman gave conflicting statements when questioned about her real identity.
