Sheikh Runa is a talented dramatist. Sometimes she acts as a hobby. Now again she is very active in politics. That’s why she is not regular in producing dramas like before, but if she gets a good story and good producer, Runa produces dramas even though it is difficult. Just like a piece of drama ‘Daring Lady’. Runa said that the production of ‘Dearing Lady,’ written by Sohel Rana, has already been completed. Some new artistes have acted in this drama. Although as new artistes, Runa is satisfied with their performances in the drama, according to her.
Therefore, if she produces more dramas in the future, Runa expressed her hope to work with these newcomers.
Sheikh Runa told this correspondent, “Sometimes I have a strong desire to make dramas. But all in all, the bat does not become the ball. When I get a good story, then the producer’s crisis, and again, when producers are found, there is a shortage of good stories. This time, I got to produce the drama ‘Daring Lady’ because the ball and the bat went together. Everyone who has acted in this drama has acted well. As a director, I am satisfied. The audience can tell the rest after watching the drama. But actually at the moment I am busier with politics. That’s why I can’t be completely regular even if I want to.”
Runa informed that she is doing the politics of Jatiya Party of Bangladesh. Inspired by that, many are joining the party.
She faced a fatal road accident on September 8, 2017. At that time, she got support from the Chairman of ATN Bangla, Mahfuzur Rahman. She readily admits it with gratitude. Runa produced the drama titled ‘Bhalobasar Epar Opar’ for ATN Bangla a few years ago.
Meanwhile, in the movie ‘Nabab LLB’, Sheikh Runa played the role of a journalist. Then she also worked as a model in an advertisement of ‘Partex’ directed by Rana Masud.
It is noted that Sheikh Runa officially joined the Jatiya Party led by Golam Mohammad Quader. As a result of being associated with cultural activities, after the university life, Runa held the responsibility of the Drama Affairs Secretary of Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha (JASAS).
However, this producer, drama director and actress was regular in various programmes of the Jatiya Party before the last national election.
