Prof Dr. Ramiz Uddin Miah of Department of Entomology has been appointed as Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU), Gazipur for two years from 10 June, 2024.
Professor Ramiz Uddin hails from a respectable Muslim family and was born in 1960 at Ranashal village under Mirzapur Upazilla of Tangail. He obtained his B. Sc. Ag. (Hons.) and in 1982 and 1996, respectively securing first class in the M.Sc. (Ag.) degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. He did his PhD degree from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 2002 and M. Sc. in Integrated Environmental Studies from the University of Southampton, England with World Bank and Oversees Development Agency (ODA) scholarship.
Earlier Prof. Miah served as, Head of Department of Entomology of BSMRAU for three times. He has 39 years professional experience and published more than 157 research articles in various reputed international and national journals.
