Sports Reporter :
Promising in-form batter Towhid Hridoy said, ” We lost the match against South Africa as I was out.”

Towhid Hridoy is now in a good form.

Hridoy struck 40 using 20 deliveries against Sri Lanka in the first Group-D match of the ICC T20 World Cup between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka on June 8.

Hridoy hit a sparkle 37 capitalising 34 deliveries when he was trapped leg before wicket by Kagiso Rabada in the first delivery of the 18th over.

When Hridoy was dismissed, Bangladesh needed 20 runs to win from 17 deliveries. Bangladesh batters failed to chase that score.

But Towhid Hridoy did not criticize his teammates. He thinks he had to complete the task.

Towhid Hridoy said, ” I was confident that we could overhaul the winning target. I had to finish the task.

The condition of the wicket was hard for the batters.

In that position, I had to perform to chase the winning target. The outfield was slow. The wicket was challenging for us. Every batter faced problems.

We lost the match as I was out in that situation. If I sustained and completed the match we would not taste defeat. Most of the noted batters of our team were out. I was on the pitch. I could earn the win in the today’s match but I could not do that as I was out.”

It is a daunting task for the batters to score at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Thus, the remarkable batters of franchise-based cricket tournaments as Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller also performed like ODI matches. Klaasen notched up 44 from 46 deliveries, while David Miller scored 38 from 29 balls. Hridoy was hard hitter than those two batters.

” My target is to score in any situation. The match is totally a game of run, I have plan to score any situation. Our middle-order performed well but we failed to achieve a good finish.

I think if I were in the last of the over, the result of the match would be different,” Hridoy added.
