Mother, child found with throats slit in Bogura hotel

The Bogura city police recovered the bodies of a woman and her 11-month-old son from a room in a residential hotel located in the Banani area.

The deceased were identified as Asha Moni and her infant son, Abdullah Hel Rafi. Following the incident, the child’s father, Azizul Haque, a soldier of the Bangladesh Army, was detained by the police.

The authorities of the Shuvechha residential hotel notified the police about the incident around 11:30 am on Sunday.

Superintendent of Police Bogura, Sudip Kumar Chakraborty, confirmed that they were killed sometime the previous night, with their bodies discovered on Sunday morning.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) stated, “The accused murderer, Azizul, who hails from Dhunat upazila of Bogura, is an army member stationed in Chattogram. He is currently in police custody, and a case is under process regarding the incident.”

According to information provided by the hotel authorities and police, Asha Monir had married Azizul approximately three years ago, and they have an 11-month-old son.
