Bangladesh Kabaddi team stormed into the semi-final of the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament defeating Poland Kabaddi team by 79-28 points with seven lonas in their fourth match on Thursday at the Shaheed Suhrawardy Indoor Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur.
Reigning champions Bangladesh led the first half with 38-15 points. By virtue of yesterday’s victory, Bangladesh are the first team, which confirmed their semi-final berth from Group-A.
Captain of Bangladesh team prolific raider Arduzzaman Munshi snatched highest 25 points from their opponent teams.
Bangladesh Kabaddi team will take on Nepal Kabaddi team in their last Group-A match at the same venue today. The match will kick-off at 6:00pm.
After defeating Poland, Coach of Bangladesh Kabaddi team Abdul Jalil said, ” We have already confirmed our semi-final berth.
It was our primary target. Defeating Poland by a massive margin, players of our team are highly spirited and confident. Tomorrow my boys will play against Nepal in our last Group-A match.
We want to win that match. We want to reach the semi-final after becoming the Group-A champions. We hope we can maintain our winning streak by beating Nepal.”
Earlier, Bangladesh thrashed South Korea by 67-22 points with five lonas in their inaugural Group-A match on May 26 at the same venue.
Bangladesh retained their supremacy crushing Malaysia by 73-22 points with six lonas in their second Group-A match on May 27 at the same venue.
