Employees of SKS Foundation brought under UPS in Gaibandha

The employees of SKS Foundation, a Gaibandha base non- government development organization working in different districts of the country, have been brought under Universal Pension Scheme of the government on Saturday.

In this regard, a view exchange meeting was held at SKS Inn with Murshed Alam Sarker, president of the organization, in the chair.

Executive vice chairman of Microcredit Regulatory Authority attended the function as the chief guest and executive chairman of National Pension Authority spoke at the event as a guest of honor.

Rangpur divisional director of Health Dr ABM Abu Hanif and additional deputy commissioner-ADC (ICT-Human resources) Sushanta Kumar Mahato were present as special guests. The chief guest in his speeches said the formulation of the universal pension scheme is a gift for the Nation from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

All citizens of the country would be benefitted from this pension scheme as it would ensure security for all, he also said.

This universal pension scheme is the dream of Bangladesh’s independence, there is talk of political and economic emancipation of people, he said adding that A goal has been set to build a happy and prosperous developed ‘Smart Bangladesh’ by 2041.

To implement this goal, a well-organized social security framework is has been constructed by the government to ensure the social and financial security of the elderly population of the society.

Honorable guest KabirulIsdani in his speeches said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in her election manifesto in 2008 had pledged to formulate an universal pension scheme to bring the elderly people under a sustainable and well-organized social safety structure.

In continuation of this, the scheme is being implemented for the citizens of the country, he added.

Earlier, an introductory speech was done by executive chief of SKS Foundation welcoming all in the function.

A large number of teachers, freedom fighters, businessmen, imams, NGO workers, cultural personalities, public representatives, media men, micro-loan borrowers women and men participated in the function.
