The 6th Upazila Parishad election was completed in Lalpur of Natore district on Tuesday in a fair and peaceful environment. Shamim Ahmed Sagor (Kap Pirich symbol) has been elected chairman by getting 30 thousand 514 votes.
His nearest rival Aftab Hossain Jhulfu got 26 thousand 997 votes. Besides, Touhidul Islam Bagha was elected Vice Chairman (Male) by getting 16,900 votes and Mahfuza Khatun was elected Vice Chairman (Female) by getting 13,901 votes. Assistant Returning Officer and Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sharmin Akhtar announced the unofficial results on Tuesday night.
