A human chain held at Sylhet central Shaheed Minaron sunday demanding the start of new train service on the Sylhet-Cox’s Bazar route. People from different professions of Sylhet participated in this human chain.
Speakers in human chain said that both Sylhet and Cox’s Bazar areas are full of natural beauty. Like Sylhet, the people of Sylhet are beautiful and love to travel. But there is no direct train service from Sylhet to Cox’s Bazar, the world’s longest ‘natural beach’. As a result, the people of Sylhet have to face a lot of trouble to go to Cox’s Bazar with their families.
There is no alternative to train service on the Sylhet-Cox’s Bazar route to avoid this hassle and go to Cox’s Bazar at low cost. This is the demand of Sylhet residents for a long time.
If this train service is started, the tourism of Sylhet and Cox’s Bazar will be more prosperous, business communication will also increase. So it is time to start train service on this route.
Speakers also said that the railway sector of Sylhet has always been neglected. Therefore, those who are leaders of the parliament should be vocal in this regard. And the demands of the people of Sylhet should be presented to the parliament. Then the safe journey of the wanderlust people will be ensured.
