Sylhet Bureau :
In the 1st phase of 6th upazila parishad election in 11 upazilas of Sylhet division was held Wednesday amid isolated incidents.
The upazilas are Sadar, Biswanath, Golapganj and Dakshin Surma in Sylhet, Dirai and Shalla in Sunamganj district, Juri, Kulaura and Baralekha in Moulvibazar district and Baniachang and Ajmiriganj in Habiganj district.
Out of the total 11 upazilas, candidates of the ruling Awami League have won in 10 as chairman whereas one independent candidate won.
