After winning the Twenty20 International (T20I) series 3-0 remaining with two T20I matches, the spirited Bangladesh Cricket team will take on Zimbabwe Cricket team in the fourth T20I match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in the capital today.
Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead the Tigers as the captain, while Sikandar Raza will lead the African side as the captain. The match will start at 6:00pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports and private satellite channel GTV will telecast the match live from the venue.
Bangladesh made an auspicious start as they thrashed Zimbabwe by eight wickets in the opening match of the five-match T20I series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chanttogram on May 3.
The Tigers retained their supremacy as they crushed the tourists by six wickets in the second T20I at the same venue on May 5.
Bangladesh Cricket team maintained their winning streak as they defeated Zimbabwe by nine runs in the third T20I at the same venue on May 7.
The Tigers will meet Zimbabwe in their last T20I at the SBNCS on May 12.
The game will start at 10:00am.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe faced each other in the 23 T20I matches.
Of them, the Tigers registered 16 T20I matches, while Zimbabwe won in the seven occasions.
It may be mentioned that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has included ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, prolific all-rounder Soumya Sarkar and ‘Cutter Boy’ Mustafizur Rahman in Bangladesh’s squad for rest of the T20I matches.
Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed are now in a good rhythm. He captured six wickets with an average of 8.83 against the ongoing Bangladesh-Zimbabwe series.
Taskin Ahmed said to the newsmen on Thursday, ” After the last World Cup, I was a victim of soreness. Then, I took part in the rehabilitation process.
I resumed my career through Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Cricket recently. However, I recovered my condition after taking part in the BPL Cricket.
Then, I improved my position after playing in the Bangladesh-Sri Lanka series. Rhythm is very much necessary for pace bowlers. My rhythm is going well day after day.”
” I have always tried to retain pace as well as variation. My team need that I shall bowl with a good speed and also maintain my rhythm. Everything is going well. I hope it will be better in future.”
