Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq on Sunday said laws must be formulated considering peoples’ welfare so that it can implement the ideology and aspiration of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
“We cannot formulate any law, looking at the eyes of someone special or to protect someone’s interest. We always have to consider peoples’ welfare and formulate pro-people acts,” he said while addressing as chief guest a workshop on finalizing draft of Annual Performance Agreement (APA) 2024-25 of Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division, reports BSS.
Emphasizing on enhancing efficiency to formulate quality act, the law minister called for arranging training at home and abroad for legislative officials, and also raising legislative cadre service.
He also urged the officials concerned to attain the APA target.
“‘Laws of Bangladesh’ is a pro-people work of Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division. People can easily view any existing laws of Bangladesh through that. In line with ‘Laws of Bangladesh’, now if we can create ‘Rules of Bangladesh’ online with all statutory regulatory orders issued so far from 1972 and compilation of other rules and regulations, people would be benefitted a lot. We have to do it very soon,” Anisul added.
Presided over by Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Division secretary Dr Hafiz Ahmed Chowdhury, the workshop was attended by Law and Justice Division secretary Md Golam Sarwar, among others.
