Gournadi Upazila Awami League general secretary and upazila chairman candidate Harichur Rahman Harish and his associates have been accused of shooting and hacking Mahilara Union Parishad chairman upazila Awmi League joint secretary Soikat Guho Piklu in Gournadi upazila under Barishal district.
Injured Soikat Guha Picklu and his motorcycle driver Munir Hossain alias Palash Howladar sent to Dhaka DMCH on early Friday. The incident took place on Thursday (May 2) around 8:30 pm in the Batajor area of the upazila. Then the attackers blocked the road to create obstacle in sending the injured at the hospital, the victim group alleged.
Later, the current upazila chairman along with the local police rescuing them sent to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.
Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital Senior Consultant Dr. Sourov Sutar denying giving details said, critically injured two sent to DMCH and others under treatment at SBMCH.
Afroza Begum Munni, wife of injured Delwar Hossain Dilu, cadre of Harisur Rahman, and Taposi Rani, mother of injured Soikat Guha Picklu, lodged the case as complainants, police sources added.In the cases huge numbers of local AL leaders and cadres were named as accused.
Anwar Hossain, officer in charge of Gournadi police station said case and counter case lodged in this connection on Friday.
