Tragic accident claims 3 lives

In a devastating accident on the Khulna-Mongla Highway near Chairmaner Mor (Chairman-Turn point) area under Rampal Upazila in Bagerhat district, three van passengers lost their lives when a speeding truck collided with the battery-run van rickshaw from behind. The incident occurred in the early morning at around 7:40 am on Saturday, April 27, according to a delayed report received here.
The collision resulted in the immediate death of one van passenger identified as Sayeed Morol (45). Additionally, four others, including the van’s driver, sustained injuries. The injured passengers were swiftly evacuated to Jhanjhania (Rampal) Upazila Health Complex, where medical professionals on duty made valiant efforts to save them. Unfortunately, two of the injured individuals succumbed to their injuries at the health complex.
They were identified as Sayeed Morol (45), son of Razzak Morol from Jhanjhania village under Rampal Upazila, and Azad Morol, son of Ekhlas Morol from the same village. The third victim was identified as Md. Moni Mallik, son of Mokbul Mollik from Kumlai-Gabbunia under Rampal Upazila.
Upon arrival at the scene, police from Katakhali Highway Police Station swiftly took control of the situation and seized the truck involved in the accident. Mohammad Babul Aktar, Inspector of the Special Branch of Bagerhat district Police, confirmed that all the deceased and injured individuals were passengers of the ill-fated van.
