Mindray, a leading global provider of medical devices and solutions, is set to expand its operations to Bangladesh, recognizing the significant market potential in the region. The company, which currently operates a branch in Kolkata, India, is eager to enhance Bangladesh’s medical device sector with affordable pricing and comprehensive support.
During a recent interview at Mindray’s office in Shenzhen, China, Gary Guo, the company’s South Asia IVD Sales and Marketing Officer, confirmed plans to establish an office in Dhaka. He noted the increasing demand for medical equipment in Bangladesh and stated, “In the near future, we will set up an office in Dhaka as Bangladesh has a growing market in medical equipment.”
Mindray is known for its extensive range of medical devices that cater to hospitals and diagnostic centers. Several top medical institutions in Bangladesh, including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, BIRDEM, and Dhaka Medical College Hospital, already use Mindray products.
When asked about special pricing for Bangladesh, Guo responded, “We will certainly give special consideration to Bangladesh. We recognize its immense potential.” He highlighted that the use of their products by leading hospitals and diagnostic centers in the country signifies strong local acceptance.
Founded in 1991 in Shenzhen, Mindray has grown substantially, boasting over 50 subsidiaries and offices worldwide, with products used in more than 190 countries.
The company employs over 18,000 people globally, with 24% dedicated to research and development (R&D). It operates 12 R&D centers, employs over 4,400 R&D experts, and invests more than 10% of its annual revenue back into R&D, holding over 10,000 patent applications.
