Rubel starrer ‘Dear Satyajit’ wins award at Nepal Cultural Int’l Film fest

The Bangladeshi movie ‘Dear Satyajit’ received recognition
at the 5th Nepal International Cultural Film Festival in
the category of International Feature Film Director,
said a press release.
Proshoon Rahmaan, both the writer and director of the movie, dedicated the achievement to the esteemed actor Ahmed Rubel, who portrayed the central character in the movie.
“The award was posthumously bestowed in honour of the late Priyo Rubel, the lead actor of the movie ‘Priyo Satyajit’. Heartfelt congratulations and appreciation to everyone involved in the making of the film,” wrote Proshoon Rahmaan in a Facebook post.
“For me, the festival is not merely a gathering of enthusiasts, but a rendezvous of kindred spirits, united by our shared passion for storytelling in its purest form,” said Proshoon Rahmaan.
He also said, “A good festival always aims to create opportunities to meet new voices, network, share thoughts, dreams, and experiences we’ve had through our respective journeys, and, of course, celebrate the magic of cinema.”
The movie secured this esteemed accolade amidst competition with five other international films.
It is noted that actor Ahmed Rubel passed away on 7 February at the age of 56.
Along with ‘Dear Satyajit’, child actor Atiqur Rahman Shihan has also won the Best Child Artiste award for his portrayal in the movie ‘Juddho Joyer Kishore Nayok’.
He won the accolade after competing with 88 actors from 29 countries at the festival.
Proshoon Rahmaan accepted the award for the team as they could not be present at the festival.
