The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Nazmul Hassan Papon has issued a cautionary statement suggesting that the BCB may seek explanations from Bangladesh National Cricket team Head Coach Chandika Hathurusingha if he is found to have breached any Code of Conduct.
Hathurusingha’s recent interview with ESPNcricinfo, where he expressed strong criticism towards the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the nation’s premier franchise-based T20 tournament, has drawn attention. In his remarks, he scrutinized the involvement of local players in the BPL and the overall execution of the tournament.
Hathurusingha went on to mention that he had “lost interest” in the event, often opting to switch off the television during matches.
“First of all, we have to see whether he has breached any Code of Conduct. If that is the case then we will take action as per our rules and regulations,” Papon told the reporters.
