The annual (2024-25) election of Moulvibazar District Lawyers Association has been held. Advocate Md. Kamal Uddin Chowdhury (203 votes) and Advocate Md. Zainul Haque (180 votes) were elected as president and general secretary.
The nearest competitor for the post of president, Md. Kamrel Ahmad Chowdhury, got 159 votes and the nearest competitor for the post of general secretary, Md. Mahbubul Alam-1 (98) votes.
On Thursday, polling was held continuously from 10 am to 5 pm at Bar No. 1 of the District Bar Association.
At the end of the election, Chief Election Commissioner Advocate Bhupati Ranjan Chowdhury announced the results. Along with him, Advocate Anjan Kumar Sutradhar, Advocate Abdul Mumit Chowdhury and Advocate Amnan Dev Raju served as Election Commissioner. 25 lawyers contested against 15 posts in the election.
