Staff Reporter  :
In a recent exchange with journalists, Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister, Obaidul Quader, criticised the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for its role in the previous election movement and subsequent decision to boycott the election.

Quader stated that BNP would have to face the consequences for these actions. Addressing the issue after inspecting the Daganbhuiyan-Basurhat road widening work, Quader expressed his dissatisfaction with BNP’s approach to complaints, mentioning that BNP tends to lodge complaints with foreigners rather than addressing concerns directly with the people.

Quader emphasised the challenges faced during the general election, citing both domestic and foreign conspiracies aimed at thwarting the electoral process.

However, he lauded Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her courage and determination in facing these plots, noting that she has achieved a unique position as the longest-serving female Prime Minister globally.

Regarding the upcoming upazila elections, Quader announced that AL would not provide nominations from the party and would not assign the boat symbol to any candidate. He declared that the process would remain open for all.
