No comments on TIB report Says ACC

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Secretary Md Mahbub Hossain said there is no scope to comments on Transparency International-Bangladesh (TIB.

He said it while talking to reporters at ACC headquarters in the capital’s Segunbagicha area on Wednesday.

According to TIB, Bangladesh’s placement in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) 2023 has dropped by two positions, now standing at 149th among the 180 countries evaluated.

ACC secretary said following eight institutions survey the TIB has published its Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) about Bangladesh corruption. It is not clear in TIB’s report that which matters they follow to survey. So, there is no room to make any comments by ACC on the issue.

He said TIB-ACC is not rival to each other’s. ACC is an independent body, work with following its law.

TIB is a Non-governmental organization. They have published they perception. They have said which method they have followed to conduct the survey.

ACC is doing its work by abiding its law and order, he added.

Terming TIB’s report unclear, Md Mahbub said according to TI policy, CPI report of TIB on Bangladesh is obscure. All things of them are vague.
