Suchorita’s request

Suchorita is the living legendary heroine of Bangladeshi films. In her long acting career, she
has got the infinite love of billions of viewers of
this country. She is still acting with that love. But yesterday, while talking to the media, Suchorita made a special request to the Bangladesh government, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and to the Jury Board of the National Film Awards.
While talking in this regard, Suchorita told this correspondent, “I think an artiste can perform as long as he or she is healthy, conscious and well. Artistes have no retirement like other jobs. So as long as I act, I should not be given the lifetime honor of the National Film Award. Allah forbid – if I get sick or have to live my life sitting in a wheelchair, then I will not mind if this honor is given. But as long as I am healthy and acting, I should not be given this lifetime honor. Of course, I congratulate those who have been awarded lifetime honors so far. I have a lot of respect, love and prayers for them. Everyone pray for me so that I can stay healthy and do better works.”
Suchorita first acted as a child artiste in Mustafiz’s movie ‘Coolie’. Suchorita’s name was Helen then. After acting in the movie ‘Coolie’, she also acted as a child artiste in several other movies including ‘Nimai Sonyashi,’ Obanchito’, ‘Rong Berong’, ‘Taka Ana Pai’, ‘Koto Je Minoti’, ‘Raj Mukut’, ‘Bablu’, among others.
As a heroine, Suchorita acted consecutively in Azizur Rahman’s movie ‘Swikrity’, Dilip Biswas directed movie ‘Somadhi’ and Ashok Ghosh’s movie ‘Mastan’. Since then Suchorita acted in 300 movies one by one.
Among Suchorita’s own movies, ‘Bojromushti’, ‘Jibone Ekjon Priyojon Sobar e Proyojon’, ‘Ankhi Milon’ movie’s ‘Aamar Gorur Garite’, and ‘Jadur Banshi’ movie’s ‘Akash Bina Chand’ are more or less everyone’s favourite songs.
