Actor, director and poet Tarek Mahmood dies

Noted poet, actor, playwright and director Tarek Mahmood passed away. He died at Moghbazar Community Hospital in the capital at 12:30pm on Thursday.

Director’s Guild General Secretary SM Kamruzzaman told this correspondent that Tarek Mahmood died of heart attack.

A condolence message has also been given by Director’s Guild Bangladesh in this regard.

Tarek Mahmood’s death has cast a shadow of mourning on the art-literature-culture arena.

Many stars of the showbiz arena expressed grief over the death of Tarek Mahmood and gave status on social media. Many cannot accept his death.

Actor Kochi Khandkar wrote, “Strange life Tarek, I can’t accept your departure. Let it be false.”

Apart from that, filmmakers Omar Sani, Adnan Al Farooq Hillol, Ipshita Shabnam Srabanti, Rawnak Hasan, Salahuddin Lovlu, Tanveen Sweety and many others expressed grief.
