The sudden rekindling of the Israel-Palestine conflict, and the ensuing horrors, is a shameful reminder of the international community’s almost criminal neglect of the decades old crisis. There has been no initiative for substantive peace talks for more than a decade.
In nearly three weeks after Hamas carried out the attack on Israel in desperation, at least 6,546 Palestinians including 2,704 children have been hacked to death in Israeli attacks on Gaza, while more than 1,400 Israeli people have been killed since October 7.
Meanwhile, Netanyahu has amassed troops and tanks on its border with Gaza in preparation for a ground invasion, after ordering some one million people to evacuate from the northern half of the land strip.
Alternatively, blockaded Gaza also pushed its 2.3 million people into an unimaginable struggle of life and death in the face of a vengeful Israel’s mindless bombing there, while the powerful nations are either looking away or busy backing Israel’s campaign for annihilation of the Palestine Muslims from their own country.
In an ideal world, the US, the most powerful country and leader of the free world which is now ruled by President Joe Biden who has stated his commitment to “a foreign policy centered on human rights”, should be enraged by what its ally is doing and apply pressure on Tel Aviv to stop the bombing and start talking, involving regional powers.
Meanwhile, President Biden and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak travelled to Israel hours after an attack on a hospital in Gaza that left at least 500 dead.
It’s a shame for the world leaders to support Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is a racist war monger and fit to be sent to a mental asylum.
He is killing Muslims in Gaza indiscriminately. He is simply committing genocide there. Shame on Mr. Netanyahu on his bigotry and callousness about Muslims.
Every Muslim country should declare him (Netanyahu) a persona non grata, who makes various excuses for killing men, women and children again and again.
His de facto rejection of the UN-backed two-state solution, support for seizures or annexation of Palestinian land in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, his discriminatory attitude to Israeli Arabs, and the recent police outrage at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque have all stroked the current crisis.
Mahmoud Abbas, a discredited figure who presides over the Palestinian Authority, is not a fit leader for Palestine.
Both sides need fresh leaders, infused with a vision for peace not war. It’s the only honest way.
Here, we support the rights of the people of Israel. We also support the Palestinian statehood of their own. Netanyahu must be punished.
With him in power there is no hope for peace and settlement of two-state solution for Palestine and Israel living side by side in peace and harmony.
America’s terrible mistake is to arm Israel as a super power in the region.
As a result, Netanyahu lost his balance to treat the Palestinians as dirt using excessive power in retaliation of any activity of Hamas or Hezbollah rebellion groups not ready to tolerate Netanyahu’s inhuman treatment to Palestinians.
If Netanyahu is removed from the scene there will be peace and two-state solution will not be too difficult to achieve.
We see it again that Netanyahu is a threat both to Israel and Palestine.
