National Garments Workers Federation
A human chain organised by National Garments Workers Federation was formed in front of the National Press Club in the city on Tuesday with President of the Federation Amirul Haque Amin in the chair. In the human chain the leaders demanded adequate compensation to the victims of Rana Plaza collapse. They demanded Taka 28 lakh for each family of those who were killed and Taka 5 lakh who were injured . The human chain was addressed among others, by central leader of Sramik Karmochari Oikya Parishad Dr Wazedul Islam Khan, Convenor of Sramik Nirapatta Forum Dr Hamida Hossain and General Secretary of Garments Tailors Workers League Badruddoza Nizam.
President of Bngladesh Poshak Shilpo Sramik Federation Towhidur Rahman, President of Bangladesh Biplobi Garments Sramik Federation Salahuddin Swapon, President of Sammilito Garments Sramik Federation Nazma Aktar, Acting General Secretary of Bangladesh Mukto Garments Sramik Union Federation Rashedul Islam Raju and General Secretary of Bangladesh Garments and Industrial Workers Federation Aleya Aktar. The speakers called upon all to be united to make garments industries as safer working places.
