Train runs on Padma Bridge

The trial run of a special train on Mawa-Bhanga section crossing through the Padma Bridge started on Thursday.
Around 10:15am, the train left Kamalapur Railway Station for Bhanga.
Railways Minister Nurul Islam Sujan, Railways Secretary Dr Mohammad Humayun Kabir and other officials were passengers and observers, reports media.
The trains will officially start running on the Dhaka-Bhanga route via Padma Bridge on October 10.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate on that day.
“This rail link will bring a revolutionary change for southern region people.
There will be changes in the communication system.
Not only the southern region, the people of the whole country will get the benefits”, Minister Nurul Islam said.
The trains will officially start running on the Dhaka-Bhanga route via Padma Bridge on October 10.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate on that day.
So far, the whole project from Dhaka to Jashore has seen 82 percent progress and in on track to be opened by 2024, project officials informed.
The project will bring new areas like Munshiganj, Shariatpur, Madaripur and Narail districts, where rail connectivity is absent at present, under railway network.
The government approved the construction of the 169-km railway line from Dhaka to Jashore in March, 2016 and it is listed as a fast-track project.
